You’d think after all the wifi-mooching I did at the coffee shops back in Sacramento, I’d be smart enough to seek out a coffee shop with free internet the moment I got here to hold me over until I get internet in my apartment. But no. For the last week and a half I’ve been busy, tired, and still trying to familiarize myself with my neighborhood. Last night, however, I found some time to check out a cute, little coffee shop down the street from my apartment that, lo and behold, has free internet! So here I am, ready and willing to share with you about my new life in South Korea… starting with my new apartment.
First of all, I live in Suwon which is located about 45 minutes outside of Seoul. I haven’t seen all of what Suwon has to offer yet, but from what I have seen so far, it seems to be very “metropolitan-esque”: lots of tall buildings, lights, public transportation, things to do, places to eat at, and a “busy-feel” to it.
I live by myself in a cozy little studio apartment. It doesn’t have a balcony like my last apartment did, and my kitchen is probably 1/10th of the size as my last kitchen. But hey, it’s free.
Did you notice the water dispenser for a nightstand? Great for those morning hangovers.
Essentially, my bathroom is a shower with a toilet and sink inside of it. Don’t ask because I don’t know.
And there you have it: my new home away from home.
