We’ve been engaged for almost three months now. Our wedding day is in a little over three months. A friend of mine who knows this recently asked me, “What’s the rush? Why such a short engagement?”
The answer is simple: I can’t wait to marry you.
I can’t wait to start our lives together.
I can’t wait to call you my husband.
I can’t wait for you to call me your wife.
I can’t wait to spend every day united as one with my best friend.
And once we’ve had a few solid years of marriage and plenty of time for just us, I can’t wait to meet our first child and become parents together.
I can’t wait to watch our kids grow up, and to grow old with you.
And believe it or not, I can’t wait for the challenges. Because I know they’re going to make our relationship even stronger than it already is. I know marriage is hard, but I know we can do it. We’re a team– a damn good one. And because of this, I know that we will be able to handle anything else that Life throws our way, now and in the future.
I love you.
