A summary of some of the fun summer activities I’ve done over the last couple months. Go here for Part 1.
Family Day at Folsom Lake: Even though all of my immediate family members and I live in Sacramento, it’s still hard for us to get together because of our conflicting work schedules. Despite our crazy schedule conflicts, my dad was determined to get us all together for at least a day for some family time, so he rented a boat for us to take out to Folsom Lake. During our Family Day of Fun, we basked in the sun, took turns tubing, and basically, got some quality family bonding time in.
Camping in South Lake Tahoe: I hadn’t been camping in two years, and I hadn’t been to South Lake Tahoe since I was 18 (I know! For shame!), so when Chris’ cousin invited us along to go camping with him and his family over Labor Day weekend, I said, “Um, lemme think about it– YES.”
Since I had to work this past Saturday, I couldn’t head out to Tahoe until Sunday morning (everyone else left on Friday). I’m still glad I went, though, because like I mentioned earlier, it had been too long since I had gone camping or to Tahoe. I had such a great time being surrounded by nature, swimming in the lake, playing with Chris’ adorable niece, and getting to know some of Chris’ family members better. I can’t wait to go camping again with them in the future!
Back in May, I made a list of things I wanted to do during my first summer back in California. After re-visiting that list, I realized that I’ve done almost everything that I intended to do! Some of the things I didn’t do were go to a Rivercats’ game, float along the American River, and visit Disneyland. But! There’s always next summer.
How did you end your summer?
