Chris got a job! Chris got a job! After A YEAR of job searching, Chris got a job! Hip hip hooray!
He got a full-time, sales-related position. It’s not his dream job, but hey, it’s a job, and that’s all you can really ask for in today’s crappy job market. Oh, I should also mention that his new job includes medical/dental/vision benefits for both of us (since we’ll be married soon). He’ll get tuition reimbursement, too, for when he wants to go back to school to get his master’s.
As you can probably tell, we’re very happy about this. Chris having a job means things are going to change for the better:
- We can move out of our studio apartment and into a nice, big two-bedroom apartment that’s located in the heart of Midtown Sacramento.
- We will both be alleviated of SO. MUCH. FINANCIAL. STRESS.
- We can start paying down our credit cards and saving money again.
- Chris will be getting out of the apartment more, which will be really good for him; being couped up in a studio apartment all day is not fun.
I really can’t express how happy I am that Chris finally has a job. These past six months have been so hard on us, not just financially, but mentally and emotionally. I mean, I guess there was some benefit to this experience: it taught us a lot about how to handle financial stress in a relationship and how to rely on each other during hard times, which are both great lessons to learn before getting married. But boy am I glad it’s over.
