Now that the weather here in Sacramento has FINALLY gotten a lot cooler and crisper, it’s starting to feel a lot like autumn! Therefore, I’ve decided to make a small to-do list of fun tasks and adventures I want to partake in during the next couple months:
1) Go to Apple Hill: Apple Hill is located in Placerville, which is about 45 minutes east of Sacramento. Apple Hill is like a little autumn wonderland where you can go to find not just apples, but apple beer, apple cider, apple donuts, apple pie, and basically all things apple. There are restaurants, wineries, pumpkin patches, Christmas tree farms, and activities for kids. It’s the perfect place to go with friends and loved ones to celebrate the beginning of the holiday season.
2) Make pumpkin bread, pancakes, and muffins: I’ve taken a bit of a cooking/baking hiatus because I’ve been focusing on losing weight, but once the wedding is over, IT’S ON. I have a bunch of recipes for fall treats that are just begging to be baked. I also want to try making homemade applesauce, as well as different kinds of soups. If you have any good recipes, send them my way!
3) Update my fall wardrobe: New coats, scarves, and boots. Need I say more?
4) Carve a pumpkin: This is probably the smallest task on my to-do list, but it’s the most important. Since this is my and Chris’ first full holiday season together as a married couple, I want to focus on creating new holiday traditions that we can do together and with our future children. I know for sure that I want our October/Halloween tradition to be: go to a pumpkin patch, pick out a pumpkin, and carve said pumpkin. Any other good October traditions you know of?
What’s on your autumn to-do list?
Inspired by this.
