Five highlights from my week:
Since Chris and I are going to be living in our tiny studio apartment for another month or so, we’ve decided to make it more home-y and live-able. Last weekend we deep cleaned our apartment, got rid of a ton of clutter, and bought a few new things from Target to spice it up (i.e. bath rug, dish towels). I’m so glad we decided to give our apartment a makeover because it’s made a huge difference: we actually like the way it looks and enjoy spending time there! We still want to move into a bigger place soon, but for now, our tiny studio apartment isn’t so bad.
I had brunch with some old co-workers on Sunday afternoon whom I hadn’t seen in a while. Good food and food friends is my favorite combination.
I went to yoga and ran for the first time this week since I-can’t-even-remember. I think it had been a month since I had practiced yoga? Never again will I take such a hiatus! I had really missed going and realized that as soon as I started the class.
On Tuesday, I voted for the third time since I turned 18 in 2003. I take my right to vote seriously, and couldn’t have been more proud to wear my “I voted” sticker the rest of the day. I’m also very pleased with the election results. Four more years!
Glee is finally back after a month-long hiatus! Too long of a hiatus if you ask me.
Five awesome links I’ve found on the internet lately:
Rachel did some research on how the average friendship lasts around seven years, mainly due to the fact that people change over time; therefore, their friendships change. I can relate to this post: I feel like I’ve changed a lot since I graduated college two years ago, and because of that change, I have less in common with some of my friends these days.
San shared a recipe on how to make German pancakes; I plan on making these for my German/Irish husband.
Ashlee wrote a post on how she’s going to be doing awesome things for some of the homeless people in Sacramento this month. This post left me feeling extremely inspired.
What are you doing this weekend? Chris and I are having our second wedding reception on Saturday to celebrate with our relatives, then on Sunday, we’re going to Apple Hill. Happy weekend!
