Happy almost Thanksgiving! What are your plans? My plan for the morning is to participate in Run to Feed the Hungry with my little sister. During the day I’m going to help my dad cook (my contributions will be roasted winter veggies, stuffing, pumpkin cheesecake, pumpkin snickerdoodles, and a bottle of red wine). And in the evening once Chris is off work, we’ll head over to his step-sister’s house. I’m so excited for a day full of family time and FOOD!
Of course, I’ve been thinking about all the things I’m thankful for in my life. Because, you know, that’s what this holiday is all about. Here’s what I’m thankful for:
I am thankful for my wonderful husband, Chris. Crazy to think that this time last year, he was only my boyfriend! I’m excited for our first Thanksgiving together as a married couple.
I’m thankful for my family: my dad, his girlfriend, my siblings, and relatives. I’m also thankful for my new family: Chris’ mom, dad, step-dad, siblings, and relatives. Seriously, I have the best family and I consider myself so lucky to have them.
I’m thankful for great friends from high school, college, work, etc. I’m thankful for the friends who were there for me during my engagement and were genuinely happy for me. I’m thankful for friends who still make an effort to keep in touch despite our busy lives. I’m thankful for my co-workers who have become the friends I see almost every day and make work fun.
I’m thankful for my internship and my job. I love that my internship is teaching me a lot and helping me acquire more professional development. And as for my job, it’s not what I want to do for a career, but it’s a good job that pays the bills, and in today’s economy, that’s all I can ask for.
I’m thankful for my health– that I have no sicknesses or diseases. Instead, I am strong and healthy. I am thankful for my life and everything I have to look forward to.
Happy Thanksgiving! What are your plans? What are you thankful for this year?
