Clearly, finding time to blog has been difficult for me lately. It seems like ever since the wedding, life has been non-stop for me and Chris: moving, birthdays, baby showers, engagements, and of course, the holidays. I’m hoping now that the crazy-busy holiday season is almost over, I will finally be able to find the time to blog regularly again. I have so much I want to write about, and so much I want to do with this space. But for now, I’ll just share a brief recap of what I did for Christmas:
On Sunday, Chris and I went to his mom’s house where she was hosting an ugly Christmas sweater party for their immediate family. Chris and I were too cheap and lazy to go out and look for sweaters, so we decided to buy some silly Christmas stickers and decorate sweaters we already owned. Along with the sticker-sweaters, we wore some elf hats and festive necklaces I found at the dollar store. We looked ridiculous, which was the point, so I’d say our outfits were a win!
On Monday, Chris and I went to his cousin’s house in the afternoon where he was hosting an appetizer party: all the guests brought appetizers to share and everyone basically grazed and ate finger foods until they were too full to eat anymore. After hanging out at Chris’ cousin’s get-together for a few hours, we headed over to my dad’s house for a Christmas Eve dinner with my immediate family. Chris and I didn’t get home until after midnight; since at that point it was officially Christmas, we opened our gifts to each other. I bought him a wallet, track jacket, a scarf, gloves, slippers, pajama pants, Star Wars figurines, a Thunder Cats ornament, and movie theater gift cards. He bought me a coat and sweater from Express, a robe and slippers, a yoga towel, a Starbucks gift card (I go there every day), and some beautiful roses.
On Christmas morning, Chris’ dad came over and I cooked breakfast for us. Afterward, the three of us went to see Quentin Tarantino’s new movie Django Unchained, which we loved! Chris’ dad went home after the movie, so Chris and I spent the rest of the evening relaxing in our new apartment and enjoying some quality time together after a hectic three days.
Even though it was non-stop and exhausting, my first Christmas back in California (and not to mention our first Christmas as a married couple) was an awesome one.
How was your Christmas? Do you have any plans for New Year’s Eve?
