Loving: weekly date nights with my husband. Our most recent date night consisted of Indian food and The Wolverine. I really love that we have weekly date nights because it guarantees us some quality romantic time together during our busy work weeks. Plus, we’re not going to be able to do as many date nights when we start having kids someday, so we might as well get them in now!
Reading: What I Know Now: Letters to My Younger Self By Ellyn Spragins for my book club. Have I mentioned that I love how I’m part of a book club now?
Watching: Season 10 of So You Think You Can Dance. Sadly, I’m not that into it this season. There aren’t any contestants that have really wowed me or stolen my heart like previous years. Usually, I have a favorite from the beginning, but so far, nada.
Anticipating: The final days of summer. Can you believe it’s already mid-August? Where did summer go? I plan to make the most of these final days with lots of lazy pool days and a family camping trip during Labor Day weekend.
Listening to: music that was popular between 1999 and 2003. I’m in charge of music for my high school reunion, so I’ve been working on the playlist a lot lately. Remember when Lou Bega’s “Mambo No. 5” was popular? Yeah, I can’t believe it either.
Planning: A trip to Las Vegas for Chris’ 30th birthday in September! I’m so stoked about this. I’ve been wanting to visit Las Vegas for as long as I can remember. I was supposed to go for the first time back in May but then had to cancel my trip because I was starting my new job and didn’t want to miss my training days. So when Chris said he wanted to go to Vegas for his 30th, I said, “heck yeah!” We’ve already booked our flights, now we need to book the hotel and finalize the itinerary. CAN’T WAIT!
Working On: job applications. I’ve reached the three-month mark for my current temp job, which means it’s half over! I plan to apply for one job a day every day from now on. I’ve already applied for a job with the organization I work for now, so fingers crossed I get it!
Wishing: Our Vegas trip was this weekend instead of over a month away and that my current job was permanent so I wouldn’t have to job search!
