My Thanksgiving weekend was pretty great. Chris and I started the holiday by hosting a Friendsgiving dinner at our place on Wednesday night. We ate pizza and apple pie, drank wine, and played games such as Cards Against Humanity and Sing Star until 2am! It was such a blast hosting a get-together for my friends whom I don’t see often enough. I hope to host another get-together this month. An ugly Christmas sweater party, perhaps?
On Thanksgiving morning, I participated in Run to Feed the Hungry with my sisters. I was planning on running the 10K, but ended up running the 5K instead since I had stayed up late the night before drinking. Even though I didn’t end up running the 10K, I’m still glad I participated in the event. Getting in some exercise and participating in a good cause is a great way to start off Thanksgiving.
In the afternoon, Chris and I went to his cousin’s house to celebrate Thanksgiving with his side of the family. There we ate appetizers, drank cocktails, and bonded with our adorable little nieces! Afterward, we headed to my dad’s for dinner. This was the point of the day where I started to feel super exhausted from the lack of sleep I got the night before, so as soon as I finished my slice of apple pie, I passed out on the couch!
As for Black Friday, I opted to stay home and avoid the crowds/traffic/crazies. Instead, I decorated our apartment for Christmas. Once Chris got home, we put up our tree and decorated it together. The rest of my weekend was spent relaxing and eating leftover pizza, turkey, and pie.
How was your Thanksgiving weekend? Did you go Black Friday shopping? Have you started decorating for Christmas yet?
