Loving the fact that I’m getting faster at running. On Tuesday, I set a new PR: I ran five miles in 45 minutes, averaging a pace of 9 minutes a mile! When I started training two months ago, I was running a pace of about 12 minutes a mile. It’s so encouraging to see how much I’ve improved since June!
Loathing the fact that I’m not making any money from my restaurant job. This job is supposed to be my money maker, yet I’m making less there than I am at my office job, which is just sad. Summertime is slow for restaurants, especially steakhouses. The holidays can’t come soon enough!
Watching So You Think You Can Dance. I’m seriously behind on the show and only on episode 10. Hopefully I can find some time this weekend to catch up on it in time for next week’s finale.
Feeling completely overwhelmed, tired, and stressed from the last two weeks. I seriously feel like I’ve been going non-stop. In the last two weeks, I’ve worked both my jobs, trained for my half marathon, played kickball with my team, planned and celebrated my dad’s birthday, camped in Yosemite, attended a friend’s birthday celebration, planned and executed a two-day garage sale fundraiser, and attended a friend’s bridal shower. Needless to say, I’M SPENT.
Planning our week-long New York trip coming up in less than a month. I can’t believe it’s almost here. I plan to buy tickets this weekend for Chris and I to see The Book of Mormon on Broadway the night of his birthday while we’re there. He really wants to see it, and we’ve both heard good things about the show, so it should be fun!
Working on my fundraising for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I’ve raised $1,433 so far, so I need to raise about $1,000 to reach my $2,500 goal. I’m planning a ladies’ wine and cheese night fundraiser for September; I’m looking forward to drinking wine and eating brie with my girlfriends while raising money for a good cause.
Wishing I had a better job situation. The fact that I’m working two jobs and making little money, combined with the fact that I’m not excited about certain people I work with is making me wish I was in a better place job-wise.
Looking forward to some down time this weekend. After two crazy-hectic weeks, I could use it. All I have planned is work, a long run, and a family birthday party in San Jose. In between all that, I’ll be vegging out on my couch!
