1)OMG it’s been A WEEK. The kind of week that makes me rejoice in the fact that it’s Friday and want to immediately reach for a glass of wine. It started on Sunday night when Otis woke us up in the middle of the night because he’s been itching and can’t sleep– itching where his surgical wounds are and itching from FLEAS. On Monday, I bought him NexGaurd from our vet which helped him tremendously; the fleas were gone within a few hours of him taking the chewable, so shortly after, we spent the rest of the night vacuuming the carpets and doing laundry to prevent a flea infestation. Well, come Tuesday afternoon, I found a bunch of ants in our kitchen! Chris had dropped some peanut butter on the floor and the ants were all over it. It’s like this week has been the week of bug problems or something. On top of all that, I think my Keurig is broken because it’s plugged in but won’t turn on. Oh, and I can’t forget how Otis threw up all over the kitchen floor yesterday morning after I fed him his breakfast. So, yeah. This week has been beyond stressful. Pass the booze, please.
2) One good thing about this week is I finally paid off my MasterCard! One credit card paid off, two to go. After paying it off, I called Capital One to see if I could upgrade my card to one with a lower interest rate and no annual fee. Unfortunately, I didn’t qualify for such a card with them, so I plan to just take the card out of my wallet and lock it up so I can’t use it anymore. I could close the account, but it would affect my credit card utilization rate, so for now, I’m just going to keep it out of sight, out of mind until I pay down more of my credit debt.
3) One other good thing that happened this week is I hosted a wine night on Wednesday evening for me and my girlfriends. My college roomie and I started doing this in college and it’s still one of my favorite ways to get together with my ladies. There’s really nothing better than some wine, cheese, homemade cookies, and girl talk.
4) I think it’s kind of funny how, ever since Chris and I deleted the Facebook app from our phones and stopped posting as much, our parents have expressed some concern. Both of our dads have texted us recently and asked “Is everything ok?” and “What have you two been up to?” Everything’s totally ok, we just haven’t been checking Facebook as much and it feels good!
5) Let’s hear it for Friday! Aside from working my restaurant job, all I have planned is a 9 mile run tomorrow morning and brunch with Chris and our friends on Sunday morning. I’m pretty sure there will be mimosas involved.
How was your week? What are your plans for the weekend?
