Loving the fact that I’m incorporating yoga back into my life these days. I injured myself twice in March due to running, so I’ve decided to take a break from running for a month or two and start focusing on more low intensity workouts, like yoga! I even signed up for a 40 Day Transformation program at my yoga studio in order to help me understand yoga better, because honestly, I’ve been practicing yoga on and off for five years and I still feel like I don’t know much about it other than it helps you become more flexible and maybe also something about karma??? I also thought this program would be good for me because it ends right before my 30th birthday, so I’m hoping all this yoga and meditating I’m doing will help ease all the feelings of stress and anxiety I’ve been having about turning 30. I’m a week and a half into the program and I’m loving it so far. I anticipate being in a better place both physically and mentally once the 40 days are over.
Loathing the fact that Chris and I are super broke now that we’ve paid our taxes. Moving up into a higher tax bracket is NOT the business. We still want to go to Carmel for my 30th birthday at the end of May, so we are officially on the beans-and-rice diet until then in order to save money.
Feeling better about my job search. I’m currently interviewing for a full time job that I think I have a good chance of getting. If I get this job, I can quit both my restaurant job and my temp job, which would be amazing!
Planning my 30th birthday party! I want to celebrate my Dirty 30 with all my friends, so I’m planning on throwing an eighties themed birthday party at the end of May. I love planning parties and events, and I love the ’80s, so this will be a super fun project for me.
Working on some new tricks with Otis. I taught him how to “speak” over the weekend and right now I’m teaching him how to “play dead.” He officially graduated from his 6-week beginner obedience training at Petco this week! Chris and I want to enroll him in the intermediate class, but I think we’re going to wait until the beginning of summer so we can work on perfecting the stuff he learned during the beginner course. Overall, we are so damn proud of our little guy. When we first got him, all he knew was “sit.” Now he knows a whole list of commands and tricks, and that list is only growing day by day.
Hoping that Otis doesn’t have to get surgery on his knee. He has been taking pain meds and joint supplements for about two months, and while his knee has gotten better, it’s still not 100%. I’m waiting for a call from our vet to let us know what the next steps are. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for an option that won’t be super costly.
Looking forward to the weekend because Chris and I are taking Otis to a pug meetup here in Sacramento. It’s going to be Easter-themed and the coordinator is going to put on an Easter egg hunt for the pugs. It’s going to be adorable!
