Note: Thank you all for your kind comments on my last post. Not only did your comments make me realize that I am not alone when it comes to figuring out the “perfect” time to have kids, but they reminded me of just how wonderful and supportive the blogging community is.
Loving having my nights and weekends off, and just summer in general. These last three weekends have been filled with fun summer activities, such as the California State Fair, hiking in Auburn, BBQs, pool days, etc., and it’s been awesome. When I worked in a restaurant, I didn’t care that much about the weekends because I had to work. Now I live for them!
Loathing that I haven’t lost anymore weight since I finished my Whole30 even though I’ve been working out 5 days a week and eating paleo 80% of the time. I think this might be because of my new job and the fact that I sit for at least 8 hours a day now. (When I worked in a restaurant, I got a lot of extra walking in during the week.) If this is the case, I think I’ll have to start doing two-a-days and workout in the morning AND after work. Boo.
Reading Yes Please by Amy Poehler and loving it! That lady is too funny.
Listening to some new songs on my workout playlist. I’m loving “Elastic Heart” by Sia, “Our Own House” by MisterWives, and “Can’t Feel My Face” by The Weeknd.
Planning out the rest of my summer. Two out of the five weekends in August are already booked, and I might book a third with a mini roadtrip for me, Chris, and Otis. There are a couple pug meetups happening in the Bay Area the first weekend in August, so I’m thinking we should go to those and also squeeze in a trip to Stinson Beach or something. I think it would be fun to do a quick getaway to hold me over until our camping and Carmel trips in August and September. HASHTAG WANDERLUST
Feeling like such an adult because I got all signed up for benefits through my new job this week. I’ve never really had a job that offered benefits, so this is a huge deal for me. I got medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401K– the works!
Working on my financial goals. I’m brainstorming ways to make money on the side, get my credit cards paid off, build my emergency fund, and track my finances better. Full blog post to come!
Looking forward to a more low key weekend this time around. All I have planned is celebrating my little sister’s birthday and lots of relaxing.
