Loving that Otis seems to be doing a lot better post-surgery this time around. He seems to be in good spirits even though he’s limping and wearing his cone of shame; he has even tried to run, jump, and play a few times. (The vet said he probably wouldn’t be trying to do those things if he wasn’t on pain meds!) Can’t forget to mention that he managed to get his cone off one night while in his kennel. Chris and I finally had to give him a sedation pill to get him to calm down and avoid the risk of him irritating his knee. One week down of recovery, five more to go!
Loathing house hunting. Chris and I have very specific requirements (location, pet friendly, cost of rent, etc.) when it comes to what kind of house we want to rent, so that really makes our pickings slim. The biggest challenge is finding a decent property management company. We’ve found some great houses, but their PM company has horrible reviews on Yelp. We’re talkin’ 1 1/2 stars! Luckily, our lease doesn’t end until November 13th so we still have time to hunt.
Reading The Fault in Our Stars. I’ve had many family members who have dealt with cancer, so it’s been interesting for me to read about fictional characters dealing with cancer. I’m more than halfway done with the book; I can’t wait to finish and watch the movie.
Planning my work trip to Vegas at the end of the month! I can’t wait to really get out of town for the first time in months (camping doesn’t count) and hopefully satiate my wanderlust for a bit, because I’m sure we will be traveling even less once we’re living in a house.
Feeling the pressure to start applying for some kind of side hustle jobs. Now that I’ve been at my new job for almost 3 months, I think it’s time to start finding a way to make some significant extra income every month. I’m definitely going to need it once we are living in a house and paying more in rent.
Working on trying to lose these last 5 pounds. It’s home stretch time. Only 5 more pounds until I reach my ideal weight and reach my goal of losing 20 pounds this year. I’m hoping I can achieve this by the end of the month. Just gotta stay on top of that healthy eating and exercise!
Looking forward to celebrating Chris’ birthday this weekend. His birthday is on Monday, so I have a lot of fun things planned and a few surprises, too!
