Loving the fact that I own a pair of jeans again for the first time in years! Since I graduated college, I’ve averaged a size 12… until 2014. In 2014, I gained more weight resulting in me barely being able to fit into my normal size 12. I didn’t want to accept that I would have to wear a size 14, so I just stopped wearing pants (jeans especially) and stuck to dresses, skirts, and leggings when I could. Well, since I recently lost about 20 pounds, I’ve found that my size 12 pants are too big and am now down to a size 10. To celebrate, I went to Old Navy and bought a pair of size 10 jeans. Talk about a non-scale victory!
Loathing how much money we’ve spent on moving. Between the deposit + first months rent, the fridge, washer + dryer, a few Target runs, and eating out for almost two weeks straight, I’m feeling pretty broke right now! Moving is expensive and I don’t want to do it again for a while. Moving is especially expensive when you move into a bigger place because you need to buy more stuff to fill it. Chris and I still need to buy a bigger dining table for our dining room. I think we’ll wait until November, though. My wallet needs a break from all these moving expenses.
Reading Lean In by Sheryl Sandberg. I’m only a few chapters in but I’m already feeling inspired by this book to stop holding myself back and start developing/working on my career goals.
Planning for the holidays because they are literally around the corner. Chris and I have a superhero-themed Halloween party to go to next week so I need to figure out a costume for that. I’d also like to host a Friendsgiving as well as a holiday party this year since we have the space to do so.
Feeling like an adult for the first time in my life, and it feels damn good. A whole blog post on this topic to come.
Working on wrapping up the moving process. We are turning in the keys to our apartment and doing the final walk-thru today. I’m excited to make it official and say goodbye to our crazy neighbor for good. We’ll probably spend the majority of this weekend working on the last of the unpacking and organizing that needs to be done. Once the moving process is officially over, we can finally start enjoying the new house and inviting people over.
Looking forward to my and Chris’ three year wedding anniversary coming up on Monday and Otis’ 2nd birthday coming up on Thursday. We’ll be doing lots of celebrating next week!
