My baby bump is looking bigger this week! Though I still think it looks like a belly vs a baby bump. I’m hoping by next week it’ll look more defined to the point where strangers can tell I’m pregnant, not just friends and family who already know.
Some other updates from the last week:
- We had our 16 week check up on Monday. The good news is we heard the baby’s heartbeat on a doppler and it’s beating at the rate it should be. The bad news is my doctor told me I’ve gained a little more weight than I should have at this point in my pregnancy, so she encouraged me to start working out more. This will be hard because I still don’t feel like I’m at the point where I’m craving healthy foods and have the energy to workout, but I will just have to suck it up and try at this point. My doctor told me that labor is like running a marathon, so I have to train in order to make the “marathon” more bearable, which means workout out! I plan on attending my first prenatal yoga class next Monday. I also think I will try running a bit. Nothing crazy, just 1-2 miles at a time because I haven’t really ran since November and don’t want to injure myself or the baby.
- Something that’s been driving me crazy lately is how much I’ve been breaking out. At first I blamed it on the pregnancy hormones, but I really think it actually has to do with what I’ve been eating. I’ve been eating a lot of cereal lately (common pregnancy craving), so I’m sure all that milk I’ve been consuming is not helping my complexion at all. From now on, if I want cereal, I will have to use almond milk.
- I’ve been getting the itch to start buying stuff for the baby (all we’ve bought so far are a couple onesies), but I’ve been waiting to go crazy with the shopping until I hit the 20 week halfway mark. I did cave this week and bought a brand new nursing cover I found on Offer Up for only $10 (originally $35). It was such a good deal, I couldn’t pass it up. I can’t wait to find other gently used/new baby products by using this app and searching Craigslist, garage sales, and consignment stores. I’m determined to save money on stuff for Baby M, and I already feel like I’m off to a good start!
What a long week, I’m excited for a low key weekend involving a double date with friends on Saturday night and brunch with some girlfriends on Sunday.
How was your week? What are your plans for the weekend?
