Loving that the weather here in Sac is cooling down and the beginning of fall is less than a month away. I typically love summer, but for me, it was a lot less fun this year now that I don’t live in an apartment complex with a gorgeous pool. Bring on the boots, scarves, and Pumpkin Spice Lattes!
Loathing that we aren’t going to be able to buy a house this year before the baby comes, but it’s for the best. We were considering trying to make it work and moving into a new place by the end of September (right before I enter the third trimester), but we decided it will be best to wait until sometime next year. I think trying to buy a house while pregnant will just cause unnecessary stress; I already have a lot on my mind with the baby these days, I don’t need to be worrying about escrow and moving expenses! As much as we want to be homeowners, I think it’s best for us to just focus one big life change at a time.
Watching Stranger Things on Netflix. Well, more like I watched it, loved it, and can’t wait until the second season comes out! I was surprised how much I liked the show since usually I’m not into sci-fi anything. I think the fact that it was set in the 1980s helped. #80sbaby
Reading baby books. I recently finished Baby Bargains, now I want to start on Baby 411. On my non-baby book list to read is We Should All Be Feminists.
Listening to “Closer” by The Chainsmokers feat. Halsey on repeat. I’m obsessed with that song!
Planning nothing for our trip to Carmel in a couple weeks. Chris and I agreed that the next time we go on a getaway, we are going to relax instead of trying to squeeze in a bunch of activities during the trip. I’m not planning anything, so I have a feeling we’ll spend most of the weekend at the beach or lying by the hotel pool, which is fine by me.
Feeling pretty good these days. Aside from some pregnancy aches and pains, overall I have a good amount of energy. I’ve been spending my weekends running errands and cleaning around the house, two things I could never do in the first trimester. It’s been so nice to be out of the first trimester trenches and feeling a little more like myself again.
Working on my finances and feeling like I’ve made some good progress these last few months. As soon as I found out I was pregnant at the end of April, I realized I need to kick my butt into gear with paying off debt and saving. I’m happy to report that I only have $1,000 left in credit card debt and expect to have it all paid off in the next few months. I’ve been building up my savings again, too, and I’m pretty happy with where it stands right now. Can’t wait to have my credit card paid off so I can just focus on throwing all my extra dollars toward my buy-a-house savings and Baby M’s college fund. Gotta love adulting.
Looking forward to a 3-day weekend coming up! We’re not going anywhere because I hate traveling during holiday weekends due to increased traffic and jacked up prices. Instead, I plan to take advantage of the Labor Day weekend sales. Mama needs a new pair of maternity jeans.
