It has been A WEEK. I’ve been super emotional and had a couple nights that involved shedding some serious tears. Here’s why:
- I’m still having trouble sleeping thanks to hip pain and constant thirst. I can’t get a good nights sleep because I wake up at least once throughout the night needing a few sips of water. I’ve realized that I’m not drinking nearly enough water throughout the day (pregnant women need around 100 oz/a day!) so I’ve been trying to be better about that. I even downloaded an app to help me keep track of my daily water intake. But yeah, the whole not getting good sleep issue is definitely something to cry about lately.
- I’m frustrated with how much weight I’ve gained these past three weeks, so much that I’m not looking forward to my doctors appointment next week because I know she’s going to lecture me about how much weight I’ve gained since I last saw her. It’s my own fault since I’ve been eating poorly and not getting enough exercise, but it still sucks.
- I’ve been feeling super overwhelmed with all the research that comes with pregnancy and preparing to have a baby. I’ve been spending a lot of time these past couple months researching baby gear, yet I still haven’t finished our registry. I bought a book on breastfeeding that I need to read, as well as a book on how to take care of the baby once he’s actually here. On top of all they studying that awaits me, I’ve started researching daycares and I eventually need to figure out my maternity leave. There’s just so much to do and learn. Having a kid is no joke, people!
- The one good thing that happened this week is I think I’m starting to feel and see baby kick from the outside! But of course when I tried to show Chris, baby stopped moving, so Chris has yet to feel baby move himself. Our little guy is clearly stubborn like his mama.
TGIF and thank god for a three day weekend. Chris is heading to Santa Cruz on Saturday so I have a fun mama/fur son day planned with Otis. I plan to take him to Starbucks for a puppaccino, Petco for a toy, and a dog park to play.
How was your week? What are your plans for the long weekend?
