I’m 25 weeks, which means I only have three weeks left of my second trimester! This is exciting but also scary, because the third trimester means shit’s getting real. Now that the holidays are upon us, life is going to get busy with lots of family/friend get-togethers. Throw in prenatal classes, our maternity photo shoot, the baby shower, and everything else we need to get done before the baby comes, I foresee the next three months flying by, which is ok with me, because the sooner we get to December, the sooner we meet our son!
We went on our babymoon last weekend and had a great time; I’m so glad we were able to squeeze this trip in, even if it was only for a few days. I plan to blog about it next week since every night after work this week has been filled with chores and errands I would have normally gotten done over the weekend. Weekend getaways are fun but they sure do mess up your rhythm for the following work week!
Some other notes from this week:
- The comments from random strangers have started, which means I must REALLY look pregnant now instead of questionably pregnant! I got two comments in one night while running errands on Tuesday, nothing bad or rude though, thankfully. It just surprised me because I’m not used to strangers striking up conversation about my pregnancy. Only a matter of time before the “Are you SURE you’re not having twins?” comments start. Not looking forward to those…
- I’ve been feeling pretty tired this week, which could be for a number of reasons: 1) I’m still tired from going out of town last weekend 2) My body is telling me it’s ready for coffee again (I developed an aversion for it in the first trimester and now I rarely drink it) or 3) my third trimester symptoms are starting early. Hopefully it’s just because I’m still recovering from the trip. I’ve been enjoying my second trimester energy and am not ready for it to leave me yet.
- Chris and I finally decided on a name for our baby boy! I love the name we chose, and it feels so nice to check such a big task off our pregnancy to-do list. We won’t be announcing his name until he’s born, though, juuuuust in case we find another name we like even more and want to change it. I doubt we will, but just in case!
- In addition to checking “babymoon” and “pick a name” off our list, I’ve been able to get some other things checked off my pregnancy to-do list this week as well. I mailed out the baby shower invites and reserved a spot at the daycare we chose. Now we’re working on putting the finishing touches on the nursery. We have most of the furniture, now we’re working on the fun part: decorating! It’s coming along nicely and I can’t wait until it’s finished.
This weekend is going to be a little busy due to two birthday parties we plan to attend, but I’m still hoping to get a few naps in because it’s been a long week!
How was your week? What are your plans for the weekend?
