I’m 31 weeks, which means that my weekly countdown is now down to the single digits. I can’t believe we only have 9 weeks until we meet our son. It’s so exciting, but also scary. We still have so much to do before his arrival! Luckily, now that the baby shower is done and over with, I can finally buy the stuff we still need, finish his nursery, and work on a bunch of other tasks on my pregnancy checklist.
A few updates from the past week:
- We had such a great time at our baby shower last weekend! I plan to blog about it in more detail, I’m just waiting to get the pictures back from my step-mom. To quickly sum it up, my family did an amazing job of putting it together and we had a good turnout of close family and friends. Oh, and Baby M got spoiled! It’s nice to know this kid is already so loved, not just by us, but by all our friends and family, too.
- The urge to nest is getting strong! Our house is currently a disaster and is covered in baby stuff, so I really want to clean, organize, and put everything away but I’ve had no time this week. It’s driving me crazy! I really wish I could just take a day off from work so I can catch up on my personal to-do list.
- I think I got my first obnoxious comment from a stranger this week. As I was walking into Starbucks one morning, a guy yelled, “Are you going to pop soon?!” I looked at him, told him “no” in my best don’t-talk-to-me tone, and he responded “Really? Good luck!” I don’t know why strangers feel they need to make a comment when they see a pregnant woman. Have they never seen a pregnant woman before? Mind your own business, people!
- I’ve been getting a lot more Braxton Hicks contractions recently, which is totally normal at this point in my pregnancy, but they still make me a little nervous. I think I’m just really afraid of going into preterm labor and having Baby M before I’m ready. I’m such a planner and like to be prepared, so the thought of him arriving before I’m ready for him stresses me out. Keep baking, little guy!
Otis’ birthday is tomorrow, so we will spend the day spoiling him. We are taking him to Petco, a pug meetup, and maybe even the pumpkin patch. When we’re not busy spoiling him, I’ll be working on nesting/baby stuff, including packing my hospital bag!
How was your week? What are your plans for the weekend?
